Accomplishment without joy, passion, or love is empty. Attainable… but empty.
Accomplishment born of joy, passion, or love is the purpose of life.
Both require hard work and commitment.
One path will feel like drudgery, and often carries with it resentment, bitterness, and a need to feel superior to justify the lack of joy.
The other path will be fueled with Divine energy and miracles and carries with it a great benefit to others, yet there will be a humility to it, knowing it is God given.
Externally, they may look very similar. Both receive accolades and both may attract great wealth, and both require great discipline. But for the fulfilled group – there is youthfulness, vigor, happiness, and a feeling of peace. Their accomplishments bring about a feeling of deeper satisfaction.
When we feel the need to accomplish so much, and even begin to feel overwhelmed with all the voices in our head pulling us in so many directions, it becomes imperative that we calm ourselves and listen to the guidance within – that still small voice telling us what is the most important thing to focus on and to also become present.
Take one step at a time. One breath at a time. There will always be so much to accomplish, so much to do. And if you have big goals and dreams, they can send you into overwhelm, causing stagnation and stalling. Better to take the one step at a time approach, allowing guidance in along the way. Release the need for perfection. The doing, in and of itself, is perfection. You learn how to do something better and better by doing it over and over, adjusting and tweaking it as you go – not by thinking how to do it perfectly and staying stuck.
So many voices telling you so many different ways to go. Some are merely distractions. Others are informative and necessary to put you on your path. Rather than shut out all the information, take note of the ones you know are guiding you to your dreams. Some may require action now, while others may not, but they may be extremely valuable as you move forward and you may want to draw upon them when the time presents itself. There is only so much you can focus on. So focus on those things which feel most pressing at the moment. Organize your day, week, month around those things that move your life forward in the direction of your dreams and as you begin to become more and more disciplined in your thoughts and your actions, you will see things fall into place without going into overwhelm and losing the joy of the present moment and in living. There will be a joy to it all. It will begin to feel like a game – and you’re winning. The wins will come with the realization that your life is getting better and better and it will feel almost automatic when you trade good habits and discipline for habits that do not serve you.
Accomplishment with joy and passion is not necessarily easy. In fact, it is not that one path is easy and the other hard. Even following one’s joy and passion can be difficult and there can be many challenges and hard choices. Staying true to the purpose and staying on track with the bigger picture will keep the joy, love, and passion in the journey, even when the journey gets tough. The rewards along that path are many and miraculous.
